Train-the-trainer Electrical Safety for Unqualified Electrical Workers

Program Description:
This online certificate program prepares you to train designated Unqualified Electrical Workers (OSHA terminology) such as welders, pipe fitters, operators, etc. You will be able to train participants on how to recognize and respond safely to electrical hazards. Awareness training is included along with the principles of effective instruction. The curriculum is designed so that you may customize it to your training needs. This certificate program has the following tracks: general, and welder. You choose at least one track.

Prerequisites: None

Curriculum includes:

  1. Class Presentation Skills Course – This two hour course is required.
  2. The track or tracks you choose to specialize in. Choose at least one.
    1. General – those who do not fall into any categories below – two hour course
    2. Welders – four hour course
  3. Project: Upon completion of your courses you will submit a ten to fifteen minute presentation of you teaching a topic in your chosen track(s) for review and critique. This can be accomplished via video or online.

Outcomes:

  • Effectively train electrical hazards to unqualified electrical workers
  • Greater awareness of electrical hazards
  • Improved ability to train others

Candidates for this Certificate Program: Those who desire to effectively train unqualified electrical workers (OSHA terminology) to recognize and prevent electrical hazards. Typical job titles include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Safety Managers
  • Training Directors
  • Safety Instructors
  • Existing Unqualified Electrical Workers
  • Maintenance Managers
  • Construction Managers

Fees for this online certificate program are based on which track(s) you choose:

  1. Class Presentation Skills Course – This two hour course is required. Fee is $400.
  2. The track or tracks you choose to specialize in. Choose at least one.
    1. General – two hour course. Fee is $300.
    2. Welders – four hour course. Fee is $300.
  3. Project: No fee. This is part of the required presentation skills course.

There will be no taxes added to any of these fees.

Train-the-trainer Electrical Safety for Qualified Electrical Workers

Program Description:
This online certificate program prepares you to train designated Qualified Electrical Workers (OSHA terminology) – those directly exposed to potential electrical hazards because of job task requirements such as engineers, electricians, inspectors, E & I mechanics and others. You will be able to effectively train participants on how to recognize and respond safely to electrical hazards. Training includes our eight (8) core Qualified Electrical Worker Courses and a Class Presentation Skills Course.

Prerequisites: None. If you have already successfully completed our Qualified Electrical Worker Courses, only the Class Presentation Skills Course is required.

Curriculum includes:

  1. Class Presentation Skills Course – two hour course
  2. Eight core Qualified Electrical Worker Courses – three to four hours each course
  3. You have to take at least seven of these courses. You can opt out of B. or C. below if you wish.
    1. Understanding Basic Electricity for Electrical Safety
    2. OSHA Electrical Requirements, less than 600 Volts
    3. OSHA Electrical Requirements, above 600 Volts
    4. Guide to Electrical Safety Work Practices NFPA 70E
    5. Guide to the National Electrical Code for Field Use
    6. Industrial Machines
    7. Grounding, Bonding, and Shielding
    8. Recommended Practice for Equipment Maintenance
  4. Project: Upon completion of your courses you will submit a ten to fifteen minute presentation of you teaching a topic from this certificate program for review and critique. This can be accomplished via video or online.

Outcomes:

  • Effectively train electrical hazards to qualified electrical workers
  • Proficiency in theory and standards required of a Qualified Electrical Worker
  • Ability to research needed information for questions that arise concerning Electrical Safety and Electrical Technology
  • Improved ability to train others

Candidates for this Certificate Program: Those who desire to effectively train or administer training for qualified electrical workers to recognize and prevent electrical hazards. Typical job titles include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Safety Managers
  • Training Directors
  • Safety Instructors
  • Existing Qualified Electrical Workers
  • Maintenance Managers
  • Construction Managers

Fees for this online certificate program are $1,600 broken down as follows:

  1. Class Presentation Skills Course – Fee is $400.
  2. Eight core Qualified Electrical Worker Courses – Fee is $1,200.
  3. Project: No fee. This is part of the required presentation skills course.
