FOOD WATER ENERGY NEXUS PANEL

Understanding the complex nexus between food, water, and energy is crucial to develop long-term economic development goals and resource security policies. Each of these sectors will be affected by future supply and demand stressors such as population growth, resource availability, natural disasters, and climate events. Impact in one of these areas has a direct impact on the other two through a variety of mechanisms. This panel will discuss the various stressors that impact the resources, some of the interrelationships and synergies, the role of various levels of government with these issues, the benefits and necessity of community engagement and action, and identify some market-based business solutions to some of the issues. The venue will provide a valuable networking opportunity with a diverse mix of stakeholders.
