Course Description:
Environmental Compliance 101 is a comprehensive 8-hour foundational course ideal for professionals responsible for environmental compliance at their facility. The course introduces essential environmental laws and regulatory frameworks, providing clarity on the roles of EPA, state agencies, and key programs.
Participants will explore core topics such as Clean Water Act permitting, hazardous waste classifications under RCRA, air emissions compliance, and emergency planning obligations under EPCRA. It also includes practical guidance on chemical safety, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) planning, and common facility inspection triggers.
Designed with real-world application in mind, this training equips learners with the regulatory awareness and practical tools needed to understand and meet basic compliance obligations.

A cancellation charge of 100% of the registration fee will be assessed on cancellations occurring within seven (7) days of the start of this session. Refunds will not be granted after the program has begun. The University of Alabama reserves the right to cancel, postpone or combine class sections, to limit registration or to change instructors.
