Our hands-on training and assessment activities are conducted in our hands-on training room in the University of Alabama’s FORTE Building. We have direct access to our training room. It is approximately 7833 square feet and is comprised of three main areas: two classrooms with tables and chairs for 78 students; our Asbestos, Lead-based paint abatement, and Mold training models, used in our abatement classes; and hands-on equipment storage.

Our Asbestos/Thermal Insulation model is shaped like a cube, 10 feet long by 10 feet wide by 8 feet tall.

It is of pipe construction and simulates piping insulated with asbestos. Our classes use this model during our “glove bag removal” hands-on exercise.

Our Asbestos/Lead-based paint house model is 18 feet long and 18 feet wide. It consists of 8-foot-tall walls and includes doors and windows. The walls are of frame construction with two interior and two exterior training spaces. We use this model during our “containment and removal” hands-on exercises.

Other Amenities:

  • Clean restrooms are easily accessible from the classroom.
  • Liquid refreshments and snacks are provided for the students.
  • Restaurants and Hotels are nearby as well.
