OSHA is continually reviewing and revising the Outreach Training Programs. They have developed a NEW Mandatory 2-hour Introduction to OSHA Module which all authorized OSHA Outreach Trainers must incorporate into their 10-hour and 30-hour general industry, construction and maritime industry classes.
The materials include an instructor guide, a 48-slide PowerPoint presentation, and handouts. The revised curriculum is designated as “Required Content” . The revised module must be presented as developed with no substantive changes.
This is the first time that authorized OSHA outreach trainers have been required to use a specific curriculum within its 10-hour and 30-hour courses. This requirement will be incorporated into the next revision of the Outreach Training Program Guidelines scheduled for October 2010.
