The University of Alabama, Office of Teaching Innovation and Digital Education is proud to be an OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Center (EC). As such, we “Train-the-Trainer” by providing Construction Supervisors, and Health & Safety Managers the official OSHA Standards Courses, Train-the-Trainer Courses, Trainer Update Courses in Construction, General Industry and Maritime Industry and other Environmental and Safety & Health courses.

Those who complete the OSHA Standards and OSHA Trainer courses become Outreach Trainers, authorized to conduct the 10- and 30- Hour Occupational Safety and Health Training in Construction, General Industry or Maritime Industry.

The 10- and 30-Hour Training Program is intended to provide entry-level workers a broad awareness on recognizing and preventing hazards on a General Industry, Construction site or Maritime Industry. The training covers a variety of safety and health topics that a worker may encounter at their job site. OSHA recommends this training as an orientation to occupational safety and health. Workers must receive additional training on hazards specific to their job.
